Altered Couture: Upcycle with Embroidery

Learn how to customise and upcycle your clothes by stitching new life into them.

In this workshop, Ali Carpenter-Hughes will teach you simple techniques, including transfer of a design, setting up and basic hand embroidery stitches, to start creating your own unique garment. Discover what to do once the embroidery is completed and about aftercare. This workshop is a great introduction to embroidery and for those who want to learn how to upcycle clothes. You don’t need any prior experience with embroidery to take this course. Please note that as hand embroidery is referred to as ‘slow stitch,’ attendees will complete their garment post workshop.
