Richard Jarvis' work is based on field sketching and observation. His hand tinted linocut and reduction linocut prints have been exhibited locally and nationally, including by The Society of Wildlife Artists and the RSPB.

Richard rediscovered linocut when attending a workshop at The Mall Galleries during the annual Society of Wildlife Artists (SWA) Natural Eye exhibition about six years ago. This workshop inspired him to use his field sketches to produce designs suitable for printing. The following year he submitted several of his first prints into the SWA exhibition, which were selected for the show.

Since then, his work has been exhibited locally and nationally, and Richard now runs workshops to introduce others to the technique. In 2019 he was elected as a full member of the SWLA and began making reduction linocut prints and experimenting with screenprinting.
